If you are wanting to make your own gluten free self raising flour blend from scratch, or are based outside of the UK and want to recreate the FREEE gluten free self raising flour, then this is the recipe for you.
It’s extracted from my cookbook Eat & Enjoy Gluten Free and works with all the delicious gluten free recipes in the book that call for self raising flour. The book is filled with 100 yummy gluten free recipes, so do check it out – it’s the cookbook I’ve always dreamed of having as a coeliac!

What Can I Use This Flour Blend For?
My gluten free self raising flour blend is a great multiuse flour that can be used for various types of baking, pancakes, Yorkshire puddings and more.
Use it in any recipe of mine that is based on the FREEE gluten free self raising flour blend (a large majority of my bakes). However do not use it to replace the Caputo flour, as that’s a very different flour.

Where Can I Buy The Individual Flours & Starches?
In the UK, I would recommend Shipton Mill. They sell a very good range of reasonably priced gluten free flours and starches.
There’s also a new company called Other Flours. I haven’t tried their range yet but the owner is an excellent gluten free bread baker and I am sure he has sourced high quality ingredients.
In the US, I see the Bob’s Red Mill range sells all of the flours/starches needed for this recipe, so that’s a good place to start. Although I am sure there are other stockists too.
Elsewhere in the world, best do a little google search to identify your best local stockists. If you have any recommendations for your country, do let me know.
