As a go-to person for gluten free travel guides and tips, I am asked time and time again for my recommendations for gluten free Paris. Finally, I’ve got my act together and have rounded up some top spots for coeliacs to eat safely at when in the French capital, and created a helpful Gluten Free Paris Guide.
Let’s start with the positive, which is that Paris has a whole host of wonderful fully gluten free eateries. You can grab a gluten free croissant, eclair, crepe and more! As well as a safe fully gluten free meal.
And there are so many you don’t really need to eat in any mixed restaurants if you don’t want to. Plus you’ll find supermarkets often sell an excellent range of gluten free products, so self catering is easy too.
On the less positive side, please be aware that France is not generally a coeliac friendly country when dining out in mixed restaurants. In my experience (having lived in Paris previously and visited for work and leisure), many restaurants do not take dietary requirements seriously. Even as a French speaker, I have struggled to get staff to understand that cross contamination will make me sick.
So, please bear that in mind when eating elsewhere and be firm. Explaining that you have an allergy to gluten (yes, I know coeliac disease isn’t an allergy, but it’s the best way to convey the seriousness – not everyone will understand coeliac disease and “intolerance” will be taken more lightly by restaurants), and asking questions about processes. I am sure there are many gems out that who can cater, so do let me know if you have any good experiences you would like to share.
Gluten Free Paris Guide
Below is a round up of some delicious coeliac friendly eateries you might like to try while in Paris. Including bakeries, restaurants, cafes and an especially delicious gelateria. Plus a handy map to show you where everything is located.
Please always ask questions when you visit, in case processes or menus have changed since I wrote this guide. While I try to keep details as accurate as possible, please treat this simply as a guide on which to base your own research. I am only one woman and cannot always keep up with the fast paced changing world of hospitality! And I would hate for anyone to get poorly due to outdated advice.

Gluten Free Bakeries in Paris
No Glu – 69 Rue de Grenelle/ 15 Rue Basfroi
Wonderful bakeries/cafes that are completely gluten free. Whether for breakfast, lunch or a little snack, these are a good place to stop during your Paris sightseeing adventures. I particularly like their little tartlets, the lemon meringue one being a personal favourite. They also have a kids menu and a great brunch offering.
Check out their summer events on their website, for donuts and milkshakes and a pizza and ice cream party (with London’s wonderful Good F’ing Pizza) at NoGlu’s Beach – 70 Rue de Grenelle! They have lots of fun going on during the Paris Olympics.
Copains – various locations
Founded by two friends this fully gluten free bakery group now has 8 locations across Paris and is lauded by many as their Paris favourite and a must visit when in the capital. From beautiful breads to flakey pastries and patisseries, they have a wonderful offering. As well as filled baguettes, pizza slices and croque monsieur toasted sandwiches to take away (or a few locations have seats if you want to sit for a bit while you eat). Plus some vegan and lactose free options.
La Manufacture de Sans Gluten – 2 Rue Androuet
An award-winning fully gluten free bakery close to Montmatre, which has especially good pastries, including croissants and pain au chocolat. And chausson au pommes, the apple pastry pictured below. Many feel their croissants and pastries are the best in the city. Best to pop by in the morning as they can sell out of some lines as the day progresses. They also have bread, various sweet treats, sandwiches and pizza slices.
Chambelland – 43 Rue Brochant/14 Rue Ternaux
Eclairs, choquettes, other patisserie and breads are just some of the delicious finds at this fully gluten free bakery/cafe. A nice spot for breakfast, lunch (noodles, soup, salad and bruschetta) or a sweet treat and a coffee. They have two locations in Paris.
Maison Plume – 61 Rue Charlot
A fully gluten free and sugar free bakery/cafe, their signature are beautiful feather-shaped patisserie. Their cheesecakes are worth trying too!

This Thai restaurant group has 3 locations across Paris and at the time of writing had a fully gluten free menu. You can dine in, order to collect or order for delivery. Dishes include chicken satay, pad thai and curry, and even gluten free dessert options such as chocolate tart and mango sticky rice.
Grom – various
A must visit for delicious gluten free gelato, Grom’s locations are all fully gluten free. They do wonderful waffle cones and the most delicious gelato flavours, you must try it. My favourites are the pistachio and fior di latte.
La Pont Traversé – 62 Rue de Vaugirard
Owned by the same people as Noglu gluten free bakery, this is an amazing place for breakfast in Paris and it has a fully gluten free menu. From brioche French toast (brioche perdu in French) and avocado toast to full breakfast plates and fresh pastries, it’s a coeliac’s dream! They also have a kids menu and some tasty lunchtime sandwich choices. And some amazing desserts and sweet treats.

A healthy and fully gluten free grab and go spot for lunchboxes full of good nourishing food. For example, ricotta, white quinoa, cucumber, roast peach, lemon zest and seeds with rocket and a raspberry vinaigrette.
Riz Riz – 221 Rue Saint-Martin
For fully gluten free and vegan food, this is a lovely restaurant in the Marais to try for lunch or dinner. Some of the team are asylum seekers, so it’s a really worthy business to support. Based on Indonesian tradition, they invite staff to share new recipes and cuisines with them, so have quite a varied menu including curries, nuckwheat tabouleh and sweet potato waffles.
Wild & the Moon – Various
A fully gluten free and vegan chain of eateries with various locations in Paris. The menu features superbowls, sandwiches, bahn mi, hotdogs, salads, baked goods and smoothies.

Levantine street food with a fully gluten free menu. Plus nutella galettes for dessert! They also do gluten free wraps and salads so it could be a nice spot to grab a quick lunch.
Other Coeliac Friendly Eateries
The below are NOT fully gluten free, but at the time of writing had coeliac friendly processes and gluten free menu choices. Please enquire when you visit these places to ensure it is still safe. Email me at laura@mygfguide.com if you have any updates or changes. Thank you!
- LouLou – recommended by my coeliac friend Morgan, she said they have good processes in place and an Aussie menu. The menu is marked up to show GF choices.
- Il Quadrifoglio – a number of my coeliac friend have eaten here and all reviews are very positive, plus you can get heart-shaped gluten free pizza which is always a hit!
- Le Florimond – for traditional French dishes, this restaurant is reportedly very helpful to coeliac diners with waiting staff who understand the importance of avoiding cross contamination.
I hope you’ve found this gluten free Paris guide helpful! I write these guides free of charge, to share helpful information with my fellow coeliac travellers. If you want to buy me a virtual coffee as a thank you, it would be very welcomed and helps me with the cost of running this website.
